As the celebrations for their 50th anniversary continue, Iron Maiden are about to bring their story to the big screen.
Their official feature-length documentary, Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition, will be released in UK cinemas from May 7, 2026, offering fans an in-depth look at the band’s five-decade journey — from East London pubs to the world’s biggest stadiums. The film is directed by Malcolm Venville and produced by Dominic Freeman, with unprecedented access to the band’s archives, exclusive interviews, and new animated sequences featuring Eddie himself (see the trailer below).
The documentary also includes appearances from Javier Bardem, Lars Ulrich and Chuck D, reflecting on Maiden’s influence far beyond metal. Runtime is listed at 106 minutes — enough time for a proper deep dive into one of the greatest legacies in heavy music.
Tickets are already on sale, and UK fans can grab theirs through the official cinema listings. We’ll be there for the release and we’ll be bringing you the full review — because honestly, missing Maiden on the big screen was never an option.

At the same time, the next leg of the massive Run For Your Lives World Tour is about to begin. The 50th anniversary run resumes next month in Athens, before heading across Europe through countries including Greece, Hungary, Czech Republic, Germany, Poland, Italy, Switzerland, France, Spain, Portugal, United Kingdom and beyond.
And yes — we’ll be there in Athens to cover the opening night.
As if that was not enough, the band has finally been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2026, ending one of rock’s longest-running absurdities. The band won't attend the ceremony as it clashes directly with tour dates in Australia. Bruce Dickinson has never exactly hidden his indifference toward the institution, while Rod Smallwood has publicly thanked the Hall while making it clear that the real reward has always been the fans.
Fifty years in, and Iron Maiden are somehow still finding new ways to make history.
