London heavy rock trio THE MOTHERZ have released their first live album, Live in Antwerp, recorded during the band’s debut European tour at the legendary Kid’s Rhythm ’n’ Blues Kaffee in Belgium.

Formed by bassist and vocalist Cedric Pfister, guitarist Miguel Montalban and drummer Jake Cook, THE MOTHERZ are still in the early stages of their story. Having released a handful of singles since making their recorded debut with Sweat, Live in Antwerp becomes their first full-length release, arriving ahead of their forthcoming debut studio album.

The trio describe their sound as a high-energy fusion of classic heavy rock, stoner rock, doom and metal, drawing inspiration from bands including BLACK SABBATH, WOLFMOTHER and QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE. It is a combination powered by heavy riffs, blues-infused guitar work and a forceful rhythm section, with the live setting providing a natural home for their music.

There will be another opportunity to experience exactly that later this month. THE MOTHERZ will perform aboard the official London Metalfest pre-party cruise on Friday, September 11th, setting sail from Westminster Pier for four hours of heavy music and sightseeing along the Thames.

They will be joined aboard by stoner-doom outfit FLAMEBEARER, while DJ Sophie Woodard will keep the metal flowing between sets. Live bands, a fully stocked bar, London’s landmarks drifting past the windows and riffs on the river — certainly not the quietest way to begin London Metalfest weekend.

Live in Antwerp is available now on all major streaming platforms.

Tickets for the London Metalfest Heavy Metal Thames Cruise are available from the official ticket page.
