Mixed Up Everything Step Into Something New With ‘In Your Shoes’

Mixed Up Everything are four Australian brothers with enough hair between them to make the entire Sunset Strip circa 1987 look worryingly short-haired.
The good news? They can play their arses off too.
The Melbourne-born rockers — Todd, Kevin, Blake and Koby Dhima — return this Friday with new single “In Your Shoes”, continuing the journey of one of those bands you might first discover because of a ridiculously good cover on the internet, only to stick around because their own music is every bit as interesting.
Mixed Up Everything initially made their name online, attracting millions of views with covers of bands including Metallica, Alice In Chains and The Offspring. Four long-haired Australian brothers absolutely tearing through rock classics was always going to get people's attention.
But reducing them to a covers band would be missing the point entirely.
Since then, the brothers have built their own catalogue across three studio albums — Ex-Nihilo (2017), I Choose (2021) and What's The Rush Now? (2024) — developing a sound rooted in grunge, alternative rock and the sort of guitar music that still believes riffs should actually sound like riffs.
And they’ve taken it well beyond the bedroom and the YouTube screen, turning Mixed Up Everything into a formidable live band along the way.
Now comes “In Your Shoes”.
The track will already be familiar to some of those who have caught Mixed Up Everything live, having appeared in their sets before receiving its proper studio release. This Friday, the rest of us finally get it. In Your Shoes is also the first single off the upcoming new album “Tinnitus” to be released soon (not date yet).
There is something refreshingly uncomplicated about these four. Four brothers who clearly love playing together, look like they've collectively avoided a barber for several years, and — most importantly — are bloody good at what they do.
Sometimes rock 'n' roll really doesn't need to be any more complicated than that.
