Ghost are heading back to the big screen. The Swedish theatrical metal giants have officially announced 2 BIG TO RIG, a brand-new concert film documenting the band's acclaimed SKELETOUR World Tour, with a worldwide cinema and IMAX release set for August 26 for a limited time. Tickets will go on sale on July 23.
Ghost have now unveiled the first official trailer, offering fans their first proper look at the film's cinematic presentation, backstage footage and the stunning 16mm visuals captured during the Mexico City shows. At the same time, tickets have officially gone on sale through participating cinemas and the film's official website, with IMAX screenings expected to sell out quickly in many territories.
Fans can also expect behind-the-scenes access alongside performances spanning all six studio albums, including SKELETÁ and fan favourites such as "Mary On A Cross," "Kiss The Go-Goat" and "The Future Is A Foreign Land."
Some fans may remember that the original plan was for three Mexico City shows. However, the first night was cancelled after Tobias Forge fell ill, leaving only the final two concerts to take place—and those are the performances featured in the film. That likely explains why many assumed only one show had been filmed, but the production actually combines footage from both remaining nights.
The title 2 BIG TO RIG refers to the sheer scale of the SKELETOUR production, which became too large and complex to transport to every territory around the world. The film was conceived as a way to bring that elaborate live spectacle to fans in countries where the production simply couldn't be staged, while also serving as a farewell to the SKELETÁ touring cycle before the band's planned break from the road.

With the trailer now online and tickets officially on sale, anticipation for 2 BIG TO RIG is only growing. For fans who never experienced SKELETOUR in person—or simply want to relive one of Ghost's biggest productions yet—this cinema event looks set to become one of the must-see metal releases of the summer.
