DragonForce Reveal Self-Titled Album Featuring Alissa White-Gluz

DragonForce have officially opened the next chapter of their career with the announcement of their tenth studio album — and their first with Alissa White-Gluz at the microphone.

Simply titled DragonForce, the record will arrive on 19 March 2027 through Napalm Records. The announcement comes alongside its first single, ‘Hunger Of The Beast’, accompanied by a high-energy performance video that offers the first proper taste of the band’s new dual-vocal attack.
White-Gluz joining DragonForce was first confirmed in May, following her departure from Arch Enemy late last year. What remained unknown was exactly how her arrival would reshape the band in the studio. ‘Hunger Of The Beast’ provides the answer with a collision of familiar DragonForce velocity, soaring melody and a noticeably more aggressive edge, allowing her clean and harsh vocals to work alongside those of Alessio Garavello.
Garavello, formerly of Power Quest and Arthemis, has stepped into the male vocal role while Marc Hudson temporarily withdraws from DragonForce’s recording and touring commitments because of an ongoing issue with tinnitus. A friend and collaborator of the band for 25 years — as well as Hudson’s former vocal coach — Garavello previously filled in for him live in 2016 and 2023.
Produced by Jens Bogren and recorded across the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Sweden, DragonForce is being presented as both a return to the youthful intensity of the band’s early material and a significant evolution of their sound.
“This is unlike any DragonForce album you’ve ever heard,” says guitarist and co-founder Herman Li,
The current line-up also includes founding guitarists Li and Sam Totman, drummer Gee Anzalone and bassist Alicia Vigil, alongside new rhythm guitarist Billy Wilkins. Vigil provides another connection to White-Gluz’s increasingly busy post-Arch Enemy world: she is also the live bassist for Blue Medusa, the all-female band launched by Alissa earlier this year with guitarists Alyssa Day and Dani Sophia.
In truth, 2026 is rapidly becoming the year of Alissa White-Gluz. Since leaving Arch Enemy, she has launched her solo career, formed Blue Medusa, joined DragonForce as their first frontwoman and now put her voice at the centre of the band’s first self-titled album. Standing still does not appear to have made the schedule.
DragonForce will begin a major North American tour in November celebrating the twentieth anniversary of Inhuman Rampage, performing the album in full alongside previews of the forthcoming record. Their only currently announced European appearance for 2027 is set for Wacken Open Air, where both DragonForce and Blue Medusa are due to perform.
DragonForce will be released on 19 March 2027 via Napalm Records.
