Northern Ireland’s PREYRS are emerging as one of the most compelling new acts in alternative and heavy music, led by the striking vocal presence of Amy Montgomery. Based in Belfast, the band combines atmospheric alternative rock with industrial and post-metal textures, anchored by Montgomery’s expressive and commanding voice.

Amy Montgomery fronts PREYRS with a balance of emotional restraint and intensity that has quickly set her apart. Having started her musical journey busking on the streets of Belfast, she developed a vocal identity rooted in direct connection and authenticity — qualities that now define PREYRS both on record and on stage. Alongside her, the band features multi-instrumentalist and producer Michael Mormecha, guitarist Nolan Donelly, and bassist Ciarán McGreevy, forming a lineup that prioritises dynamics, space and impact over excess.
PREYRS’ debut album, The Wounded Healer, released via Pelagic Records, is a focused and emotionally grounded record that explores themes of trauma, recovery and transformation. Rather than leaning on genre conventions, the album allows songs to build gradually, giving Montgomery’s vocals room to move between intimacy and power. Tracks such as Wave Of Wisdom, Bring Ur Bruises and Into The Blue showcase the band’s ability to balance heaviness with melody and atmosphere.
The album has drawn attention for its coherence and maturity, particularly notable for a debut. PREYRS avoid overstatement, instead favouring tension, repetition and subtle escalation — elements that translate effectively to a live setting, where Montgomery’s presence becomes a central focal point.

Following extensive touring in 2025, including high-profile support slots across Europe, PREYRS will embark on a headline tour in 2026, with dates scheduled across Germany in March and a UK run in May. The tour marks the next step for the band as they bring The Wounded Healer to wider audiences and further establish their live reputation.
With a clear artistic identity and a frontwoman capable of carrying both emotional depth and authority, PREYRS are positioning themselves as a band to watch closely in the current alternative rock landscape.
