Ozzy & Black Sabbath’s Final Show Is Coming to Cinemas Worldwide This October

The story of Back To The Beginning is not over yet. Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath’s historic final performance will arrive in cinemas worldwide on October 28, 2026, giving fans another opportunity to experience the landmark Birmingham farewell on the biggest possible screen.

Produced by Mercury Studios and distributed globally by Trafalgar Releasing, Ozzy & Black Sabbath: Back To The Beginning revisits the extraordinary show held at Villa Park on July 5, 2025. The concert proved to be Ozzy’s final appearance onstage, taking place just 17 days before his death.

The event saw Ozzy perform a short solo set before reuniting with Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward for Black Sabbath’s closing performance. It marked the first time the band’s original line-up had played together in more than 20 years — and brought their story to an end only a short distance from where it began.

“Back To The Beginning came about because I asked Ozzy what would really make him happy,” explains Sharon Osbourne.

“And he said the only thing that would make him happy was if he could perform again and say goodbye to his fans. That’s all he wanted to do. He wanted to say goodbye and thank you.”

The film will combine footage from Ozzy and Sabbath’s final sets with behind-the-scenes material and reflections from some of the artists they inspired. Unlike a simple replay of the original livestream, it has been edited specifically for cinemas and will be presented in Dolby Atmos and 5.1 surround sound.

Directed for the screen by Ben Wainwright-Pearce — whose credits include Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour — the production promises to capture both the enormous scale of Villa Park and the intimacy of Ozzy’s last goodbye.

The original event was hosted by Jason Momoa and musically directed by Tom Morello. Its formidable bill included Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Tool, Slayer, Pantera, Gojira, Alice In Chains, Halestorm, Lamb Of God, Anthrax, Mastodon and Rival Sons, alongside a seemingly endless collection of special guests.

Billy Corgan, Steven Tyler, Travis Barker, Yungblud, Ronnie Wood, Papa V Perpetua, K.K. Downing, Sammy Hagar, Chad Smith and Nuno Bettencourt were among those who joined the celebration.

For the remaining members of Sabbath, the day carried a weight far beyond that of an ordinary reunion.

“It was a closure for the band and it was a good way to go out, I think,” says Tony Iommi.

Geezer Butler remembers the atmosphere as “a wave of love”, while Bill Ward describes returning to the Sabbath drum kit in Birmingham as feeling “completely at home in a place where I belong”.

Ozzy & Black Sabbath: Back To The Beginning will begin its limited worldwide cinema run on October 28. Tickets go on sale at 3:00pm BST on Thursday, September 24, through the official Back To The Beginning website.

At the time of writing, a dedicated trailer for the new cinema film has not yet been released. A promotional trailer exists for the original 2025 livestream, but it is not the trailer for this newly edited theatrical production. For now, the official announcement and cinema artwork offer the first look at the release.
