After weeks of speculation surrounding the band's future, Greta Van Fleet have officially lifted the curtain on their next chapter. The Michigan rock quartet have announced their fourth studio album, Palace For The People, due for release on October 9 via Republic Records, while unveiling its second preview, the heartfelt new single "Saw You Stand."

Following the release of "Play Your Games" back in May, the new track reveals a more vulnerable side of the band. Beginning as a delicate piano ballad before gradually building into a powerful crescendo driven by Josh Kiszka's soaring vocals, "Saw You Stand" hints that Palace For The People may be Greta Van Fleet's most emotionally expansive record to date.

The album was recorded in Tennessee during the spring of 2026 and co-produced by the band alongside acclaimed producer Mike Elizondo, whose recent work includes collaborations with Turnstile and Fiona Apple.

According to guitarist Jake Kiszka, fans shouldn't expect a simple continuation of the band's previous sound.

"As much as it is a Greta Van Fleet record and a rock and roll record at its core, in its heart, it's a very modern record."

The album's title carries a special connection to the UK. It was inspired by Alexandra Palace in London, where the band headlined in 2022. Originally known as "The Palace of the People," the Victorian venue was built as a place where everyone—not just royalty or the wealthy—could gather, escape and be inspired. The band embraced that philosophy as the central concept behind the record.

For bassist Sam Kiszka, the idea became deeply personal.

"I can't tell you how many people have come up to me and said, 'This is my best friend. We met through your music or at your show.' We realised the music is our palace."

The announcement also puts to rest the rumours sparked earlier this year, when the band's cryptic social media message thanking fans for "the wild ride" led many to believe Greta Van Fleet were calling it a day. Instead, the time away from touring appears to have strengthened both their bond and their creative vision.

"We love each other just as much as ever, if not more," says vocalist Josh Kiszka. "We've grown closer, and we have more to say and share than ever."

Drummer Danny Wagner echoes that sentiment, adding:

"The minute the four of us step into a room with the shared goal of creating, there is very little that can stop us."

With two singles now available and a fresh creative direction taking shape, Palace For The People looks set to mark another significant evolution for one of modern rock's most distinctive bands. If "Saw You Stand" is any indication, Greta Van Fleet are embracing a broader emotional palette without losing the grand, anthemic spirit that brought them to the forefront of contemporary rock.
